Access Project
The Access Project aims to raise awareness about volunteering in the Lewisham borough. We are keen to increase participation in volunteering in all sections of the community particularly black, ethnic minority and refugee groups and other under represented groups in Lewisham.
We have Outreach Points in the community where people can come and speak to an advisor about volunteering. We have a wide range of volunteering opportunities with voluntary, non-profit making organisations in and around Lewisham. The best way to find the right voluntary role for you is to speak to an advisor and fill out a registration form highlighting the type of organisations and activities you would like to do.
Take the first step
If you would like to volunteer in your community and are willing to give a little of your time, why don’t you talk to us so we can find you an interesting and fulfilling role that suits you. Ring us on 0208 613 7113 for an appointment to speak to an advisor.
Need extra support?
Volunteering is for everyone and has many benefits; you can gain work experience, references and improve your confidence. If you would like extra support and information about getting involved in volunteering please email Suki at: suki@volunteercentrelewisham.org.uk
Join us!
We are also looking for volunteers to help us at the Access Project to work as Volunteer Advisors at the Outreach Points. Everyone is welcome to apply and particularly those with community language skills. Gain valuable communication skills and work as part of a friendly team. If you would like to help volunteers to volunteer and are available for at least three hours week, please email Fay at: fay@volunteercentrelewisham.org.uk

Voluntary Organisations and Community Groups in Lewisham
If you have a group of six or more people interested we can arrange to run an ‘Introduction to Volunteering Workshop’ for your organisation on another date, possibly at your premises. Please call Suki on 0208 613 7113 if you would like to discuss this.
Also if you work with people form hard to reach/ BMER communities and would like to help them participate in volunteering we can hold information days at your organisation. We are also keen to attend community events and have information stalls to promote volunteering to different groups.
Bellingham and Downham
We are currently aiming to increase participation in volunteering by people from Bellingham and Downham. We are having sessions every month in Bellingham, in partnership with the Childrens Centre. If you are an organisation in these areas and want us to promote volunteering to your service users please contact Suki on 0208 613 7113.
