2nd Lewisham Volunteer Achievements
 |
Following the great success of our Volunteer Achievement Awards in 2007 we have decided to hold this annually during Volunteers’ Week.
Volunteers’ week is always 1st June – 7th June.
Whilst we recognise that all of Lewisham’s volunteers provide vital support and services that enhance and contribute to the vibrancy of the borough, just every once in a while you have one volunteer that you think to yourself ‘I wish that I could show that person how much we appreciate or admire them’.
When considering whether to nominate someone, remember that it is not solely length of service, or the time that they give, but the impact that they have made either to a community or organization and possibly to themselves.
Please only nominate each person to one category.
Youth Volunteers
Nominees must be under 18 years old.
You might want to nominate people who:
Have been consistent in their development through volunteering
Have changed their own life and opened doors through volunteering
Have made a specific impact on a community, group or individual through volunteering
|
BMER
Nominees must identify as being from a black or minority ethnic or refugee back ground
You might want to nominate someone who:
Has supported and improved a community through volunteering
Improved their own prospects through volunteering
Supported individuals

Overcoming Adversity
This section allows you to be more creative. Nominees may come from any background but will have included volunteering as a means to assisting them to overcome particular personal challenges.
You might want to nominate someone who:
Has physical or mental health issues and has continued to volunteer and benefited themselves as well as others.
An ex offender who has been volunteering to improve their future prospects
Someone with low self esteem or confidence, and has been volunteering to improve this.
|
General
This section is open to all, in particular those who do not fit into any of the other categories.
Here you might want to nominate someone who:
Has helped your organisation in a particular way
Has been consistent in the time that they have given
Has helped your organisation to develop
Has helped your organisation to deliver services.
|
All nominees will receive a certificate of nomination and recognition.
Please note.
We are allowing a maximum of 4 nominations per organisation. If you nominate more than 4 volunteers you will be asked to discard any additional nominees.
